Recover micro sd2/11/2024 ![]() Do not insert this card in a phone again. ![]() It works a surprising amount of the time, though it does have some shortcomings compared to the commercial level products.Įdit: I forgot to mention that you will need a card reader to connect this to a computer for any of this to work. If you want a free option that might work, you could try R-Photo by R-Tools Tech. The problem here is that there will be many false results, and that any file with any degree of fragmentation (very common, and you probably wouldn't know about it) cannot be recovered by this method. Basically, they look for starting and ending bites and files, and try to carve out complete files from the block of raw data. These products work through a technique we call carving. Steer clear of most freewares like Recuva (really only designed for recovering deleted files, not files lost through damage/corruption), or Photorec (testdisk's companion). I would suggest R-Studio or GetDataBack, but if you want a cheaper alternative, Raise Data Recovery works pretty well in most cases. There are a few programs you could use to do this. Once that's done, scan the image (and put the original card away). Cloning/imaging prevents the degradation from harming more of your data. The cause of that corruption is the problem. Whatever people tell me that they have a corrupted data storage device, I told them the same thing: a drive (disk, memory card, whatever) cannot be corrupted. This is because frequently, a failing card is what causes actual corruption. ![]() You can use R-Studio create an image file.
